Obituary for MARRS

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday December 20, 2008

Anthony J. Marrs, Beloved dad, husband, son, brother, friend. Anthony was a remarkable man who led a remarkable life. He was an intelligent and hardworking man who received his Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of New Mexico while working full time so he could better provide for his family. He had an intuitive sense of all things mechanical, a real-life Mr. Fix-It. He was a proud and dedicated father, who coached little league baseball and supported his children in every way he could. He was a patriot, who served in the United States Coast Guard because of his sense of duty to his country. He was a diligent employee at both Phillips Semiconductors and Emcore, where he did his best to exceed expectations. He was a kind man, a generous man, a lover of music, a comedian with his own brand of humor, a talented artist, a world traveler, an amateur genealogist, an experimental cook, and so much more. Anthony is survived by his wife Cindy; his children Shannon, Anthony, Zachary, and Joshua, his mother Yvette; his brother Chris and his wife Kathy; his sister Theresa and her husband Craig; his nephew Taylor; and many, many friends who he loved dearly. We love you Anthony, and we will never forget you. Services will be held at Salazar and Sons Mortuary (located at Third St. and Lead) on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 2:00pm.
