Obituary for BRISKY

Maria Delia Brisky. After having a third stroke, Maria Delia Brisky, passed away at her home on December 17, 2008. She was born March 28, 1925 in Edith, Colorado. She was preceded by her father and mother, Gorgonio and Crucita Abeyta; her brother, Roy; sisters, Beatrice and Sophie; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. During her long illness, she was able to remain at home because of the care provided by her husband, Edward and her daughter, Toni. The family would also like to thank the Vista Care Hospice Team and Women's Hospital for the excellent care Delia received. She was married to Edward for 61 years, during which time she lived in numerous states due to Edward's military career. She was trilingual and wanted to study a fourth language before she lost her sight. She is survived by her husband, Edward; her daughters, Toni and Amy; her son, Roy and his wife, Martha; as well as her sisters, Genevieve Young of Durango, Colorado, Faye Spencer of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Martha Mata and Lucille Abeyta of Albuquerque, New Mexico; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her wish was to have no formal service. Her ashes will be intered along with her husband's at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
