Alexander Stewart Murray Sr., 85, a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, died Thursday, December 11, 2008. He is survived by his spouse, Betty Albyn Murray; his daughter, Melinda Cook of Tijeras, NM; his sons, Alexander Murray Jr. and wife, Diane of St. Charles, IL and Alan Murray of New York, NY; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and dear friends, Marcelo Jara and Constantine Foukas. He was a longstanding member of Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church. Alexander was born in 1923 in Lasswade, Scotland. He was a Lieutenant in the British Royal Navy during WW II. There will be a private family innichement with Pastor Tom Hart presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Trust for Historic Preservation, 1785 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036.
