Mary C. Gallegos, Maria Ella Lizzie Chavez Gallegos left to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2008. She was born June 9, 1918 to Solomon and Eleanor Chavez in Martineztown of Albuquerque, NM. The eldest daughter, Mary, was preceded in death by her parents; by sisters Martha Perez and Esther Moya; and brothers Frank, Ernest, and Eliseo "Cheo" Chavez. Mary met and married the love of her life, Jacinto "Jake" Gallegos, January of 1942. The couple had 42 descendents covering four generations. Mary joins Jacinto, who passed on in 1992, in their rinconcito en el cielo. Mary is survived by her son James Gallegos, son Jerry Gallegos and wife, Elena, son David Gallegos and wife, Dianne; and daughter Jeanette Roybal and husband, Ted; brother Sol Chavez, Jr. and wife Sydney, brother Charlie Chavez and wife Barbara; sister Alice Maldonado and husband, Max. Catholic Memorial Rosary will be recited at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW, on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernadette Church, 11401 Indian School Rd., on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
