Anita Johnson, a lifetime resident of NM, went home on Thursday, November 27, 2008 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She ended her 35 year career at APS as a guidance counselor at John Adams Middle School. Through the years, she enjoyed many activities including golf, photography, fly fishing, RVing, wood carving, hiking and snow-mobiling. Anita loved the outdoors and traveling. She is survived by her long time companion, Bobbi Norton; and her niece, Sharon Mantor and husband David, of Edmond, OK. Anita was a former member of the Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ and a current member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Rio Rancho. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, December 6, 2008, 1:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
