Obituary for WOOD

Clifford Bearan Wood, 83, was called home to join his heavenly Father early Sunday morning, November 23, 2008. Though time took his body and his soul lives with the Lord, his memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him. A veteran of World War II, he served his country as a Navy machinist mate on both the European and Pacific fronts. He was a very successful businessman and accomplished pilot. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Velma Wood; daughter, Joyce Cox and husband, Ross; grandson, Jimmey Cox and wife, Cathy; great-granddaughters, Darla, Jamie and Krystal Cox; brother, John Wood and wife, Jean; and sister, Betty Thomas. Services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be John Wood, Jimmey Cox, Ross Cox, Lloyd Myers, Gene Myers and Charles Morino. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Hospice Homecare, P.O.
