Margaret Ellen Bixby Kearney. In Loving Memory of Margaret Ellen Bixby Kearney, 91, who died on November 18, 2008 after long illness. She was a devoted, dedicated and loving wife to her husband of 56 years, John F. Kearney who survives her. She was the Best Mom in the World to her three children, son John J. Kearney and his wife, Kim, of Florida; her daughters, Patricia Ellen Swanson and her husband, Richard of Sandia Crest and Grace Ann Kearney of the home. She is also survived by the pride, joy and love of her life, her only grandson, John Christopher Kearney and his fiancee, Lindsey Brown, also of Florida. She always put her family first. She was born in Schenectady, NY and loved moving to new places with her family. She lived in Hudson, NY; US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guatemala Central America, Arlington, VA, Brownsville, TX, Raton, NM, before settling in Rio Rancho in 1973. Through her life, she enjoyed working with people and was a camp director, swimming teacher, Bible instructor, substitute teacher and worked at the Rio Rancho Inn and Albuquerque Country Club. Margaret Kearney was very devout and religious. She loved to swim, read, knit, sew, and work on cross word puzzles, garden and travel. Her happiest moments were those spent when her entire family got together. She never met an animal she didn't love and enjoyed numerous family pets. Her friendships were very dear to her and brought her a lot of joy. She is and always will be loved and missed by her family and friends. She has chosen cremation. Services are pending.
