Rita C. Wertz, 91, of Punta Gorda, FL formerly of Rio Rancho, NM died on November 18, 2008 in Punta Gorda, FL. She was born on August 2, 1917, in Brooklyn, NY and came to Punta Gorda, FL from Rio Rancho, NM in January of 2008. Rita was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, NM. A member of Rio Rancho Golf and Country Club, volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital and a member of the Filician Sisters of Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her son, Roland W. Wertz, of Breezy Point, NY; and her daughter R. Rosemary Lekich of Punta Gorda, FL; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
