Obituary for MOORE

Patrick Moore, 92, native of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Ira Moore, a Professor of English and Greek Literature at the University of New Mexico; his mother, Violet DeTuillio Moore, a graduate of UNM and a beloved teacher in Albuquerque; sisters, Athena Moore and Rosebud Moore Dickenson; his grandfather, Angelo DeTuillio, an Italian immigrant architect and builder was a contributor to many of the buildings in Santa Fe and Albuquerque in the beginning of the 20th century. Mr. Moore is also survived by childhood friends, Virginia Doyle, Adelina Timofeyew and Oristino Puccini. Mr. Moore received his doctorate in physics at the University of New Mexico and was well known for his volunteer work with the Newman Center at the University of New Mexico, Creamland Dairies and the local rescue missions. He was also responsible for organizing the Huning Highland Neighborhood Association. In 1959 he became a representative of the order of St. Therese, The Little Flower. He was a kind and gentle person with old world manners and thoughtfulness for others. He will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 17, 2008, 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper NW. Mr. Oreste Pucccini and Mr. Robert Montgomery will act as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE.
