Obituary for STONG

Richard "Dick" Noel Stong, born June 15, 1941, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the age of 68. Dick was born in Morenci, AZ and moved to Albuquerque in 1952. He graduated from Valley High School in 1960. He was in the US Marine Corps as an infantryman from 1960 - 1964. He worked for the Gas Company from 1965 until 1968 and then Ford Motor Credit from 1968 - 1987. Dick was a devoted friend, brother, and cousin. He was loyal to his country and very proud of the time he spent serving in the US Marine Corps. Dick is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Stong; father, Noel Stong; and brother, Dennis F. Stong. He is survived by his cousins, William James Gilliland, and Paul Colarich of Arizona; aunts, Janis Dutson and Helen Colarich of California; many nieces and nephews and other family and friends who loved him and will miss him. Services will be held at the LDS Chapel 11750 San Victorio Ave NE, 87111 on Monday, November 17, 2008 with a Viewing to begin at 10:00 a.m., Chapel Services at 11:00 a.m., and Burial at 2:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors.
