Obituary for CANO

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday November 16, 2008

Teresa Dolores Cano, 60, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 after a courageous battle against breast cancer. Our beautiful mother gave unselfishly of herself and asked for nothing in return as her love was truly unconditional and without end. And although her suffering was unbearable, the thought of leaving her children and grandchildren was even more so; the greatest joy in her life was her family. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Ernesto and Flora Chavez, and brothers, Martin and Stephen Chavez. She is survived by her beloved children: Lisa Chavez (partner Janet Armijo), Rhio Griego, Anissa Griego-Briones (husband Eugene), Eric Cano, and Stephen Cano (fiance Sheila Ornelas), grandchildren, Richard (wife Crystal) Walker, Alex Walker, IslaRose Briones, Aiden Cano-Duran, Marissa Griego, Sierra Akeo, and great-granddaughter Isabella Walker. Dolores is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Tina (Manuel) Ortega, Vickie Chavez, Donna (Jesse) Prado, Diana Chavez, Danny (Debbie) Chavez, Ernest (Connie) Chavez, Jr., Ramona (Rick) Valdez, and Christopher Chavez, very special cousin Sandy Rotruck and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. After all of her suffering, she is finally resting. We love you, Mom; you will be dearly missed. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Carlisle Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, November 19, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard and Alex Walker, Aiden Cano-Duran, Eugene Briones, Jesse Prado, and Matthew Vasquez. A special thanks to Heartland Hospice, especially Julie Ann (RN), Joanna, Tad and Jennifer for the wonderful care and support our mother received.
