Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday November 09, 2008

Dorothy Mae Sundstrom died peacefully Saturday morning, November 8, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly; her mother, Lula Miller, her father, Dusty Miller; and her brother, Bill Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Shoemaker and husband Hal; her son, Larry Sundstrom; as well as her daughter, Judy King and husband T.K.; her grandchildren, Linda Elliott and husband Don, Bob Barnes and wife Rossann, Jeff Barnes, Jenifer Nunnelley and husband Michael, Tara Wallace and husband Matt, Matt Sundstrom, Janice Nylund and Jill Goldsmith. Dorothy's great-grandchildren were all the greatest joys of her life! She loved everyone of them with all her heart. "Ma" will be missed by Tyler and Tanner Barnes, Tyler and Kailey Sundstrom, Cooper and Colton Wallace, Chris and Kanela Barnes, Brodie Johnson, Gavin and Hunter Nunnelley, Jared Nylund, and Emily and Libby Elliott. Dorothy was born January 15, 1913 in Toledo Ohio. She raised her family in Michigan near Walnut Lake, in a community that became an extension of her own family. She lost her husband Kelly at the young age of 54 and filled her empty heart with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the rest of her 95 years. Dorothy's best day included a glass of white Zin, a Michigan Wolverines game, a plate full of cole slaw, and a few good laughs with the kids. We will all miss those days so much! The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to PACE/Total Community Care for their many years of dedicated support and medical care. Also, thank you to Carestone Assisted Living for the support during her last months of life.
