Mrs. Mary T. (Koel) Koenig, 65, of Joplin, Missouri died of cancer complications Thursday, November 6, 2008 at her home. Mary was born to the late Robert and Marcea Koel on May 23, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri. On January 12, 1963 she was united in marriage to Mark A. Koenig in Raytown, Missouri and to this union three daughters were born. During her life Mary was very motivated and hardworking enjoying various trades, such as becoming a beautician, co-founding a restaurant, and being a counselor at a health club. Throughout her life Mary was devoted to her husband and family. Once her husband retired in 1999 they relocated from Batavia, Illinois to the Albuquerque, NM area and then to the Joplin area. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Denise Marie Olson and husband Ray of Juneau, Wisconsin, Michelle Miller and husband Randy of North Aurora, Illinois, Dana Lynn Koenig of Juneau, Wisconsin; a sister Patricia Roccaro and husband John of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers Richard Koel and wife Chris of Baltimore, Maryland, David Koel and wife Donna of Homestead, Florida; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Burial is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Memorial Services with Mr. Karl Beyersdorfer will be at 6:00 p.m, Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin.
