Helen Gurule Sanchez, 93, a lifelong resident of the Albuquerque and Placitas communities, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Nick Sanchez; her parents, Nicolas and Evelina Gurule; and her son, Anthony Gene Sanchez. Mrs. Sanchez is survived by her children, William Sanchez, Alyce Chavez and husband, Abel, Amelia Costales and husband, Ernest, Lillie Mae Radtke and husband, Richard, Lorraine Sanchez, Robert Sanchez and wife, Erma, and Daniel Sanchez and wife, Bunny. Helen also leaves behind 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; numerous other family members and friends. She was a faithful member of the Second United Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, October 28, 2008, 10:00 a.m., at the Second United Presbyterian Church, 812 Edith NE with Rev. Jaime Quinones and Rev. Rudolfo Barrera officiating. Cremation has taken place and a Private Burial Service will be held at the San Antonio de Las Huertas Presbyterian Cemetery in Placitas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Second United Presbyterian Church Choir Fund, 812 Edith NE.
