Obituary for GREENE

Bruce Oliver Greene. Born January 15, 1935 in Chicago, IL, passed away just before midnight Saturday, October 18, 2008. Surrounded by friends, a lot of friends, and family over the last two months while he fought the cancer he knew would eventually take his life. He is preceded in death by his father Clay Marshall Greene, mother Helen Paris Greene of Saugatuck, MI, and wife of 35 years A.M.O. (Alice Margaret Outram) Greene, whom also died from cancer in 2002. Bruce is survived by brothers Marshall Greene and wife Norma, Kimber Greene and wife Barb, Robert Greene and wife Sherry; four adult children, David C. (Lesa) Greene, Andree E. (Alex) Ortega, Richard M. Greene and Clay Michael Robert (Stephanie) Greene his youngest, five grandchildren Christopher Peters (David), Adam and Angelique Ortega (Andree) and Symantha Mercer and Brandon Greene (Clay Michael Robert); and two great-grandchildren. Bruce was a loving and caring man, dedicated to his family, and a hard working and honorable business man. He owned two FIRESTONE TIRE AND RUBBER CO. retail stores, in northeast Albuquerque that are very successful to this day. He loved sports and was an avid NASCAR fan. He tirelessly supported the New Mexico Lobos and his beloved Chicago White Sox. He loved the wild outdoors and with his ten acres in Chama, NM, built his dream of retirement in Gods country. For all who knew him, he will be truly missed.
