Obituary for HEDRIC

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday October 18, 2008

Dois Ray Hedric, 88, died Thursday. He is survived by his wife, Chris; daughters: Sue, Elize, Sharon and son: Joe; stepson: Joe Nolen. Ray worked for Santa Fe Railway as a crane operator from Albuquerque to El Paso. He got drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in the Army Infantry, fighting in ground in Germany and other close countries. He was proud to serve his country and never talked of the hardships he went through--he was glad to come home alive. Ray belonged to the American Legion 49. He worked in the retail business with both Penney's and Montgomery Ward becoming manager of the carpet department at Montgomery Ward until 1967. He then decided to explore other courses and later became an eager insurance agent and worked for Bankers Life and Casualty until he decided he did not care to be on the road any longer. He had worked Colorado, Texas and New Mexico markets for years. He was such a good humanitarian; he would help anyone in trouble. A Viewing will be Sunday 3:00-7:00 p.m. in the Reflection of Life Chapel (Washington and Cutler NE) followed by a Rosary. Life Celebration Mass will be Monday 12 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Entombment following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Online condolences: www.Reflectionoflife.com.
