Sarah Maestas, 64, a resident of La Jara, NM passed away October 8, 2008. Mrs. Maestas is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Leonard Maestas; her three children, Duane Maestas, Brian Maestas and wife, Monica, Deidre Salaz and husband, Brian; a brother, Richard Perea and wife, Martha; two grandchildren, Briann Salaz, Ian Adan Maestas; special aunt, Juanita Anzuares; nephews, Leroy, Johnny, Joe Dino; nieces, DorieAnn, Jennifer, Irene; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Maestas was preceded in death by her parents, Adan and Dorelia Perea; two brothers, Mauricio and Aquilino Perea. Mrs. Maestas was a member of the Catholic Church and of the Guadalupanos. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM, 6440 Main, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Los Hermanos. Final visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Father John Bolan, presider. Interment will be at the La Jara Cemetery. Pallbearers are Archie Jacquez, Pres Salaz, Leroy Perea, Manuel Blea, Jr., Tony Duran, Irene Perea. Honorary pallbearers are Fema Chavez, Milton Maestas, Dickie Archuleta, Julia Gutierrez, Shirley Sanchez, Andy Lucero, Gloria Anzures, Marty Vigil, Vangie Armijo.
