Patricia Walker, 72, a homemaker who cherished spending time with her family, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 in her home in Albuquerque. Patricia is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth; son, Kenneth; seven daughters, Patricia Walker-Geoghegan, Judith Hosmer, Agnes Delgado, Debra Werner, Denise Walker, Elizabeth Scanzani and Elise Walker-Tirado; a brother, John Murphy; three sisters, Irene McConville, Margaret Boyle and Audrey Olsen; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Patricia was born in Manhattan as Patricia Murphy. She spent her summers as a child on Oakwood Beach where her family maintained a summer residence. She moved to Oakwood in 1945, and to South Beach in 1953. Patricia settled in New Mexico in 1988. She was a mother of eight children, including two sets of twin daughters, and loved spending time with her husband, Kenneth. "My mother met my dad after he returned from the Korean War," said her daughter, Patricia Walker-Geoghegan. "They were dancing at Tappen Post in Stapleton and fell in love." Mrs. Walker enjoyed ballroom dancing, swimming, playing Scrabble, reading mystery novels, and listening to music. Cremation has occurred, and a private Memorial Service was held.
