Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday September 28, 2008

Gordon Wilson Mumford, long time resident of Albuquerque, went to be with his Lord and Savior September 26, 2008 with his children by his side. He is survived by his daughters, Sheridan Oxford and husband, Nick and Colleen Rue and husband, Wayne; grandchildren, Barry Oxford, Barbara Oxford, Wayne Rue, Jr. and wife, Diana; Great grandchildren, Nevin Oxford, Nicholas Oxford and Dakota Oxford; Brothers, Paul Mumford and Getty Mumford; Sister, Margaret and Sister, in Law Peggy Mumford and long time members of the family Tricia Oxford and Robb Robillard. Mr. Mumford was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Phyllis Mumford and his brother Carl Mumford. He will forever be remembered as a quick witted and generous man. He was a self learned man. His work as a brick layer took him all over the world building everything from schools to hospitals. He was a lifetime NRA member who loved nature and animals, especially dogs. He loved motorcycles and car racing; his favorites were NASCAR and World of Outlaws. He will be missed by all who knew him, but it gives us great comfort knowing he is in his wife's loving arms again. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held.
