Shirley Gibson, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954 died Wednesday, September 17, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leroy Gibson; sons, Kenneth Gibson, Les Gibson and wife Leslie, and Curtis Gibson; grandson, Christopher Gibson; and granddaughter, Kimberly Gibson, all of Albuquerque. Shirley was the oldest of eight children all of which survive her. She was born in Blackwell, OK and attended Blackwell schools. She moved to Albuquerque after she and Leroy were married. Shirley was a volunteer at numerous nursing homes for over 20 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008 at French Mortuary - Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
