Obituary for VAUGHN

Marie Vaughn, a resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully on September 16, 2008 after a long illness. She was born in South Boston, MA on August 1, 1922. She attended Grammar school at St. Augustine's, and high school at St. Gregory's in Boston, MA. She worked at MIT, and came to Albuquerque to work for Harold "Doc" Edgerton on the Manhattan Project. She continued to work for EG&G in Honolulu, HI, and Las Vegas, NV where she met her husband James Vaughn. She spent most of her married years in Boston before returning to Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Shea; brothers John and Roger Shea; sisters Marguerite Shea, and Kathleen McCarthy. She is survived by sisters, Eileen Glora, and Claire Higgins; son Stephen Vaughn and wife Deborah; Grandchild, Christopher Vaughn; stepdaughter, Mary Ann Kuroda. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on September 19, 2008 at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo del Norte, NE.
