Dawn Ella Klingler Webb, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died Saturday, September 13, 2008 in Rio Rancho at the age of 81. Dawn was born December 12, 1926 in St. Anthony, ID to the late Karl and Genevieve (Cardon) Klingler. She was the sixth of seven children. She attended public school in St. Anthony and Rexburg, Idaho and earned an associate degree at Ricks College in 1946 and a bachelor of arts in English and education from Brigham Young University in 1948. While attending BYU, she met and fell in love with Isaac Earl Webb. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 27, 1948. Upon graduation in 1949, Dawn and Earl took jobs as school teachers in the town of Hanapepe on the island of Kauai, in the territory of Hawaii. This was the beginning of her lifelong involvement in teaching. She was an accomplished and encouraging teacher and enjoyed many years with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Albuquerque Public School system. Dawn and Earl lived and worked in Brigham City, UT, Whiteriver, AZ and Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, NM. Dawn was a member and leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as Primary President, Cub Scout leader, Visiting Teacher, and Relief Society President. She had a special love for the Relief Society and enjoyed singing in the ward choir. She and Earl served as missionaries in Mexico City from 1985 to 1987. Through her church service she made many life-long friends and touched many lives. Dawn, "Gran" Webb is survived by her children Kimo (Angela), Wendy Gardner (Duane), Peter (Laurie), Tom (Alice), Charlotte Nebeker (Bill), Joel (Karen) and Lee (Craig Casper): by grandchildren Joshua, Cardon, Kim and Logan Webb; Allen, Laurel, Lee, Caroline, Clark, and Elizabeth Gardner; Burr, Courtney, McKay, Clay, Seth and Jed Webb; Ford, Katie, Porter, Ed, Hyrum and Parker Webb; Andrew, Cara and Thomas Nebeker; Aubrey, Matthew, Taylor, Natalie and Nickolas Webb: and by 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Earl, and her cherished granddaughter Erin. Dawn was a creative person with a great sense of style, design and balance. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter and an excellent homemaker. Well-read and articulate, Dawn delighted in wordplay, which combined with her trenchant wit meant that she was always ready with a quip. Dawn was a skilled musician with a lovely alto voice. In college she regularly sang popular big band songs on KBYU radio. From her parents, she inherited strong pioneer values and always held dear her Idaho heritage. She had a keen sense of personal responsibility, and a strong work ethic, and always accomplished what she set out to do. Dawn lived with Alzheimer's disease for many years and she bore her long illness graciously. A Memorial Service for Dawn Ella Klingler Webb will be held at 10:00 a.m, Wednesday, September 17, 2008 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 2807 19th Avenue SE, Rio Rancho, 87124.
