Flora Neubert, age 87, a resident of Valencia County for many years, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Flora was an independent and adventurous woman. She graduated nursing school at age 52. She worked at the University of New Mexico Hospital in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit for several years, before working as a nurse in Saudi Arabia. Flora traveled the world, and at age 60 became a certified scuba driver. Upon returning to Valencia County, she continued her nursing career caring for infants and young children. For the past several years she lived at El Morro. Flora was a strong woman and an excellent role model for family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Neubert. Flora is survived by three daughters, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place.
