Ernest Garcia, age 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Ernest will be fondly remembered as a kind and giving man who had the "Best Chile in town". He enjoyed spending time in the mountains, camping, fishing, and especially being among his grandchildren and family for family gatherings. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. The love of his fellow Veterans led him to become the founder of the Contaminated Veterans of America. Ernest will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Felipe Vallejos; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Garcia; several brothers and sisters. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Toni Garcia of the family home; his children, Patsy Parraz and her husband Eddie, Tom (Mike) Garcia; his precious grandchildren, Michelle Ruiz and husband Joe, Renee Vallejos- Jean Pierre and husband Maceo, Valerie Parraz, Chris and Paul Garcia, Casey Morris, and Marlon Flores; great-grandchildren, Tawni, Joseph, Adrianne, Cisco, Lorenzo, Antonio, Alysia, and Diego. Also surviving are his siblings, Helen Jaramillo, Johnny Garcia and his wife Petey, Ralph Garcia and his wife Marcela; and numerous beloved family members and friends. Visitations will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Place SE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be, Mike Torres, Chris Garcia, Paul Garcia, Eddie Parraz, Maceo Jean Pierre, and Joe Ruiz.
