Clarence.Our beloved Clarence Ira Murphy, 76, was called by our Lord on Monday, September 1, 2008. He was born August 12, 1932 in Albuquerque, NM to Hanibal and Nellie Murphy. Clarence was the second oldest of eight children. He was preceded in death by his father Hanibal; his mother Nellie; his beloved wife Helen; his daughter Mary Helen Fulcher; and sons Clarence Ira Murphy Jr. and Patrick Murphy; and sister Lela Mayfield. Clarence was known for his genuine love for people and his generous spirit. He was called many different things by his family, including: Moose, CI, Uncle Murphy and many other terms of endearment. Clarence was a kind and compassionate man who loved every person he met. He retired from the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway in 1992 after 30 years of faithful service. He was a current member of the NAACP. Clarence loved cooking, watching nature shows, and entertaining. He is survived by two sisters, Dolly Thompson and Laura Lipscomb and husband, Donald; four brothers, John Murphy, Eddie Murphy and wife Jennie, Joe L. Murphy Sr., and Fred Murphy and wife Margaret of Albuquerque. He is also survived by grandchildren Edward, Willie, Carmen and Bonnie Fulcher, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. His love and warmth will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Visitation for Clarence will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services Carlisle Chapel on Friday, September 5, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Michael Shelby Pastor of God's House Church officiating with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
