Clara Jean "The Boss" Torres June 27, 1959 - August 30, 2008 Clara Torres lived in San Rafael, NM and graduated from Grants High School in 1977, and went on to obtain her Business Associates degree from TV-I in Albuquerque, NM. Clara is survived by her most precious son, Adrian Quintana, 28; and her very close in heart granddaughter, Cheyenne Quintana, seven years old; her parents, Ramon and Mabel Torres of San Rafael, NM; two brothers, Leandro Torres and wife, Theresa of Flagstaff AZ, Ramon Torres Jr. and wife, Traci currently stationed at Ft. Carson, CO: four sisters, Cecilia Cantu and husband, Roland of Albuquerque, Carol Valdez of San Rafael, NM, Ramona Torres of Albuquerque, Camille Vigil and husband, Larry of Albuquerque; nephews, Leandro Torres Jr. , Randy James Valdez, Joshua Torres-Jaramillo, Kyle Vigil, Joseph Cantu, and Johnathon Cantu . Nieces, Jennifer Torres, Annessa Valdez, Megan Cantu, Lauren Torres, Isabelle Torres, Gabriella Torres, Mia Katherine Vigil; and God daughters Erica Aragon and Amelia Torres. Clara is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she cherished. Clara's strength was in gracefully battling renal disease all while inspiring the lives of the people she loved and strangers she captured with her smile and strength. Clara recently retired from 17 years of faithful service to Kirtland Air Force Base. She started her career at Civilian Personnel and the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center and ended her career at the Air Force Research Laboratory. Clara loved her almighty God, her family, her many dear friends and the Dallas Cowboys. Her favorite thing to do was play "Beauty Shop" with her seven year old granddaughter, Cheyenne. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at DCI for the wonderful care and friendship that was given to Clara. Visitation will be Thursday, September 4, 2008, at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Place, NW from 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., a Eulogy will be offered at 10:15 a.m., Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. by Deacon Frank Lucero. Communion Service will follow the Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Deacon Frank Lucero, presider. Pallbearers will be Adrian Quintana, Leandro Torres, Ramon Torres Jr., Larry Vigil, Roland Cantu and David Luna.
