Obituary for NAFUS

Raymond P. Nafus, born June 19, 1916 in Oakridge, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2008 at his home in Albuquerque. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Evadene; two children, Bobby Nafus and wife Judy and Penny Nafus and husband Chip Wilson. He is also survived by 3 grandsons and their spouses: Rob and Shari Nafus, Brandon and Stephanie Nafus, Leon and Dianne Nafus and granddaughter, Carrie Nafus. Additionally, he is survived by 2 brothers, Carl Nafus, Glenn Nafus and wife, Mary, and 12 great grandchildren: Kurtis, Brianna, Tyler, Shelby, Craig, Vanessa, Josh, Shylah, Dylan, Emilee, Isiah and Angelina. Raymond served in the Army during World War II on the front lines of North Africa and Italy, where he was decorated with a Silver Star and three Bronze Medals. He retired from Galles Motors in 1979 after 29 years of service. After retiring, he put his many talents to work restoring sports cars and VW's to their original condition. He also enjoyed building furniture and working with his family in construction. A private family service will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
