Obituary for ASHTON-BROWN

Patricia L. Ashton-Brown, 62 a resident of Cliff, NM entered eternal rest on Monday, August 18, 2008 at her residence. She was born to Newton C. and Betty (White) Ashton on October 1, 1945 at Santa Fe, NM. She is now singing to the angels in Heaven! Patty was a third generation Santa Fe, New Mexican and she loved her home state. She graduated from Santa Fe High School and earned her Bachelors Degree in Theater and Speech from Hastings College in Nebraska. After teaching in high schools in Tennessee and Michigan and working at various jobs she returned to New Mexico and started her own business, Cyrano's, helping others. She was very active in the theater and had roles in many plays. She and husband Dick loved to travel, especially in their RV throughout the North American continent. They also enjoyed traveling to other parts of the world. Now she is on the greatest trip of all. We will miss her and her beautiful smile and singing voice. She is survived by her caring husband of 19 years, Richard L. Ashton-Brown of the family home; two sons, Aaron Brown of Albuquerque and Kylene Brown also of Albuquerque; one daughter, Jenifer Nightingale-Ethier from Abbotsford, British Columbia; five grandchildren, Solomon, Forrest, Mackayla, Erica and Joel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Newton and Betty Ashton. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 26th at 1pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cliff with Pastor David Goble officiating. Interment will take place at Mesa Cemetery in Gila following the service. Pallbearers will be Bill Sauter, Hugh Bishop, Bill Hoffman, David Ogilvie, Pat Feeley and Pete Wilmeth.
