Obituary for LABARGE

JoAnn Juliet LaBarge, 83 years young and a resident of Albuquerque, NM for most of her life, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 after a long illness and complications from Alzheimer's. She is survived by her sons David LaBarge and wife Karen of Sacramento, CA, Lee LaBarge and wife Terri of Albuquerque, NM, and grandchildren Jolene McBee, CM LaBarge, Valerie LaBarge, Jaclyn Threadgill, Travis LaBarge, Cody LaBarge, Alexandria Johnson, Kelsey Johnson and great-granddaughter Addison McBee; as well as many other relatives and friends. JoAnn was preceded in death by Kenneth LaBarge, her loving husband; Catherine LaBarge her daughter; and Cindy LaBarge-Johnson, her youngest child. JoAnn was born on July 22, 1925 in Caribou, ME to Edmond and Catherine Bouchard. She grew up in Caribou, ME and graduated from the University of Maine where she met and married her husband Kenneth LaBarge. They moved from Maine to Denver, CO and then on to Albuquerque, NM in 1955 where they settled to raise a family and became early and active members of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. JoAnn enjoyed a career as a registered hospital dietician. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed gardening. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place. A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church, on Thursday August 21, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. with Rev. Bennett J. Voorhies - Pastor officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Mausoleum. The Honorary Pallbearers are her three grandsons CM LaBarge, Travis LaBarge, and Cody LaBarge. The family wishes to thank the many caregivers who became her friends at The Woodmark and at The Cottages.
