Obituary for VALLEJOS

Valentin Vallejos, 59, a resident of Albuquerque passed away Thursday, August 14, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Valentin enjoyed a rich life that was full of joy. He and the love of his life, Mary Lou (Mommy), raised their five children in Albuquerque upon his return from service in Vietnam where he earned a National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Air Medal (two awards), and an Army Commendation Medal. Valentin worked for the City of Albuquerque for 20 years, retiring from the Fire Department in 1991 at the rank of Lieutenant. He is preceded in death by his father, Fidel Vallejos. Mr. Vallejos is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Mary Lou; his children, Samuel Vallejos and wife, Myra, Gregory Vallejos and wife, Christine, Christine Duncan and husband, Kyle, Mario Vallejos and Dana Mayes, Juan Sisto Vallejos; his mother, Martha Vallejos; his brother and best friend, Max Vallejos; grandchildren, Lenei Vallejos, Gregory Vallejos, Jr., Hannah Vallejos, Darryl Vallejos, Kayla Duncan, Elijah Sisto Vallejos; one grandchild on the way; siblings, Fidel Vallejos, Paco Vallejos, Anthony Vallejos, Anna Parra, Cecilia Pinzon; special mother-in-law, Piedad Chavez and husband Tony; goddaughter, Alexandria Solis; his scooby-partner, Raymond (Compa) Gonzales; and many special friends and neighbors. Valentin has touched many lives and has left a lasting impression on future generations. His dedication to his family is unmatched and his bravery, strength, and wit will live on through his children. We will continue his legacy, live to bring him honor, and make him proud. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Legacy Church, 7201 Central Ave. NW with a Funeral Service, celebrating his life, to follow at 10:00 a.m., by Pastor Danny Sanchez of Victory Outreach Church. Valentin will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. with full Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Gregory Vallejos, Jr., Eusebio Fred Castillo, Fred Teupell, Robert Sanchez, Leonard Griego and Raymond Gonzales.
