Virginia E. Smith, 69, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1995, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2008. Virginia was born January 14, 1939 the daughter of William James and Eleanor DeFricke Smith in Bronx, NY. She had worked as a secretary for the television network, NBC, before moving to New Mexico. Virginia is survived by one brother, Robert W. Smith and wife Pat of Rio Rancho; one nephew, William Smith; and one niece, Ann Smith. The visitation will be held on Monday, August 18, 2008 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd. NE, Rio Rancho, with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 2:00 p.m., at the Church of the Incarnation. Interment will be at a later date at the Cemetery of the Assumption in Van Cortlandtville, NY.
