Obituary for PLEMONS

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday August 17, 2008

Joe Wallace (Wally) Plemons of Bernalillo, NM, 63, suddenly left us on August 2, 2008. Born in Durango, CO June 8, 1945, he was raised in NM; served in the Navy; managed a Radio Shack Store in Rio Rancho. After retiring from the Sandoval County Treasurer's office, he crafted exquisite chimes. By his side, Norma, wife and soul-mate, crafted beautiful wood-products. Together, they sold their hand-made items at craft fairs. Wally was a people-person and loved to explain how he made and tuned his chimes. His last weeks were spent doing what he loved the most: craft fair at Eagle Nest, with Norma, and fishing at Coyote Creek. He is survived by his wife and soul-mate, Norma Gay Plemons; sons, Jerry Leon Plemons of Belen, NM, Patrick Plemons; Richard Lawrence, and Bryan Lawrence; his mother and step-father, Margaret and Armond Austin; and two sisters, Sally Bueno, and Marilyn Treadwell; and 12 wonderful grandchildren. At his request, there will be no memorial service. Thank you to all who have been so supportive at this sad time.
