Obituary for MARQUEZ

Margaret B. Marquez, age 88, a long time resident of Santa Rosa passed away July 31, 2008 in El Paso, TX, following an illness. Margaret was born April 2, 1920 in Colonias, NM to the home of Francisco and Leandra Ulibarri Baca. Margaret spent the last days of her life in El Paso, TX surrounded by her loving family, where she celebrated her 88th birthday with great joy in the company of her siblings, daughters, son, grand, and great-grandchildren and extended family. Her spirit will live on in all of us. She will be missed dearly. Margaret was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of The Campos Senior Citizens Center. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lorenzo A. Marquez; her daughter, Sylvia Marquez; and her son Lorenzo "Larry" Marquez. Survivors include her children, Richard Marquez and partner Patricia Sanchez of Albuquerque, Patricia Martinez and husband Eduardo of El Paso, TX, Lorella Ritchie and husband Frank of Las Vegas, NM; brothers and sisters; Trinnie Campos and husband Pelagio of Borica, Sister Mary Magdalene Baca of Amarillo, TX, Andres Baca and wife Polly of Santa Rosa, Celestina Casaus and husband Gene of Albuquerque, Magdalena Gallegos and husband Evaristo of Santa Rosa, Polly Maes and husband Horacio of Albuquerque, Gilbert Baca and wife Vickie of Albuquerque, Frank Baca of Santa Rosa, Ramon Baca and wife Marcella of Albuquerque, Boni Baca and wife Sylvia of Albuquerque and Connie Chavez of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Rosary Services will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., from St. Rose of Lima Church with her nephew Deacon Marvin Marquez leading in prayer. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery. A gathering will be held immediately after the services at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Margaret's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
