Obituary for GUMP

Robert Paul (Andy) Gump passed away at his home June 19, 2008, in Silver City, NM. He was born April 22, 1914, in Marion, IN to Myrtle Levengood and Ralph Gump. He married Rhode Jane Sheffield, also of Marion, on June 4, 1944. They moved to New Mexico in the late 1940's and resided in Albuquerque, Bosque Farms, Hillsboro, and Truth or Consequences, before moving to Silver City. Mr. Gump spent many years working as a weatherstripper and caulker in the Albuquerque area. He enjoyed travel, motorcycles, fishing, and boating. He took up air rifle target shooting in his late seventies. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rhoda; sister, Alma Dickson and husband George of Marion, IN; son, Edward and his wife Sara of Hudson NY; daughter, Gigi Shoaf and her husband Doug of Silver City; one granddaughter Valerie Trujillo of Oahu; one grandson, Robert Shoaf of Silver City, and four great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Baca's Funeral Chapel.
