Travis Dean Eden, age 52, of Albuquerque, suddenly passed away following challenges of a long-term illness on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Travis graduated Sandia High School in 1974. He was actively involved locally and nationally with the Order of DeMolay. He attended UNM, earning his BBA in Finance and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He began his banking career at Albuquerque National Bank, and then moved to the First National Bank as VP of Commercial Loans. In 1989, Travis joined the Prudential Insurance Co. of America where he earned recognition in the "Million-Dollar Round-Table" and the company's highest award, "The President's Conference". He became Vice President and Manager of Rocky Mountain Awning Co., later returning to Prudential, then bitten by the entrepreneurial bug and opened a family business, Tropical Smoothie Cafe. He was known for his active community service throughout Albuquerque, NM, and the United States through Leadership Albuquerque, Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, New Mexico State Fair Commissioner, All Faiths Receiving Home Endowment Foundation, DEI, just to name a few. Travis was known for his compassion and care for others, he always put others needs in front of his own. His passions in life were his family and friends. He will long be remembered for his great sense of humor and sharing fun times with those he loved. His life motto was "To touch a life." Travis is survived by Susan, his wife of 28 years; sons, Ryan and wife Katie, Kyle, and Cory; father, Gorden Eden, Sr.; brother, Gorden Eden, Jr. and wife Mary; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Eden; and sister, Sherry. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 4, at 2:30 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper Avenue NE.
