Scott Allan Ramsey January 24, 1941 - June 28, 2008 The family and friends of Scott A. Ramsey, 67, deeply regret to announce his death on June 28, 2008, of a heart attack in Farmington, NM. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda; two children, Sean and Nan; three grandchildren, Scott, Christopher, and Brianna Baker; and two brothers. Ross and Charles. Born in Salt Lake City, UT, on January 24, 1941, Scott moved to Los Alamos during his elementary school years and graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1959. He earned a B.A. in music education from UNM and an M.A. in Music Performance from University of Arizona in Flagstaff, AZ. Scott retired from public school band directing after 26 years, and in 2003 was inducted into the New Mexico Music Educator Association's Hall of Fame. After retirement, he opened Ramsey Music and Art Studio where he taught private lessons, operated a stained glass shop, and composed and arranged music for many of the groups in which he continued to play. He helped organize and performed with Brassworks 4, an accomplished brass quartet that toured the country for almost nine years. He has more than 70 works in publication. A Memorial Service organized by family and friends will present a musical tribute to Scott Ramsey at 10:00 a.m. August 6, 2008, at the San Juan College Little Theater in Farmington, NM.
