Obituary for SHELDON

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday July 27, 2008

Karen Sheldon, beloved wife of James, beloved mother of Astrio, beloved grandmother of Evan, Renee and Kyle, and beloved great-grandmother of Elijah passed away in her home in Edgewood, NM, after a short illness, on July 3, 2008. She was 70 years old. She is also survived by brothers, Niels and Thorkilo Thomsen; nieces; a cousin living in Copenhagen, Denmark; additional extended family members in Morris County, NJ, step-son, Jay and step-daughter, Robin; as well as sisters and brothers-in-law. Karen had many friends living in the Albuquerque and Edgewood area. She was a volunteer at Bethel Community Storehouse and loved going there. She was a friend to all and always tried to reach out to others. She had a special talent for filling a need, and did so in a quiet unassuming way. She was an accomplished "Beader", just one of her many craft type hobbies. Her passion for detail and achievement is obvious by the many awards she received in the past few years. She lives on in our hearts. Private Services have been held. Donations can be made in Karens name to the American Cancer Society 10501 Montgomery NE 87111 or www.cancer.org. Arrangements by: Direct Funeral Services 2919 4th St. NW Albuquerque, NM 87107 (505) 343-8008.
