Obituary for HAYWARD

Russell John "Jack" Hayward, 82, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2008. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Aghajanian and husband, Michael of Laguna Niguel, CA and Martha Basarich and fiance Michael Kennedy of Albuquerque, NM; his grandchildren Alexandra, Mark, George and Dermot; and many close friends. Mr. Hayward was preceded in death by his wife, Francis "Mickey". Mr. Hayward was born in Chicago, IL, and raised in Kansas City, MO. He was selected by the US Navy to attend Iowa State and University of Kansas where he graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering. Upon graduation, he served as a Naval Officer on the USS Columbia until the end of WWII. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he became a pipeline engineer before he joined Merrill Lynch to pursue his passion for investing in the stock market. He worked at, and retired from, Merrill Lynch after more than 30 years. Once retired, Jack pursued his love of the outdoors, fishing and hunting whenever and wherever he could. Mr. Hayward was a member of the Albuquerque community since 1964. He attended the Hoffmantown Church, the Solo Club, and the "McDonald's coffee club" where he and his friends discussed and solved the world's problems every day. Services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper Dr., NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111. Interment to follow at The Santa Fe National Cemetery.
