Obituary for TITZL

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday July 24, 2008

Richard Titzl. Our beloved dad, Richard (Dick) Titzl a long time Albuquerque resident left us quickly and quietly on Monday July 21, 2008. He was born in Louisville, KY on June 1, 1923 and first came to Albuquerque in the early 50's, after serving as a GCA Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Italy during World War II. He attended the University of New Mexico, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1956. He opened a family business, called the Art Center of Albuquerque in 1965, which he operated until the early 80's, when it eventually became the Art Framing Center. He enjoyed collecting fine coins and rare stamps. He was also an artist who loved to paint and draw and continued to create until well into his 80's. He loved to read and was an avid sports and history buff. He loved college football and closely followed most of the games throughout the year. Dick was predeceased by three children, Mary Ann Titzl, Lisa Titzl, and Leif Taylor. He is survived by one brother, Robert Titzl of Louisville KY: and four children; Rick Titzl, Tom Titzl, Barbara Fajardo, and Karl Titzl. He also had seven grandchildren, Daniel and Evan Fajardo, R.J. and Crista Taylor, Vanessa Titzl, Janel and Angela Titzl. The family would like to express our gratitude to Albertson's and their employees at the San Antonio and Wyoming branch who were so very kind, compassionate, and helpful to our father, Dick. A Private Family Memorial will be held to remember our dad to honor his memory. He will be greatly missed and in our hearts and minds everyday.
