Julia Martinez, 89, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ben Martinez. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Bungert, Mercy Martinez-Nunnally, Liza Herrington and Veronica McCarter, and a son, Roman Martinez; ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church for over 50 years. She had a deep love for her family and was a great wife and mother. She instilled a tremendous work ethic in all of her family. Since her husband's death, Julia's faithful companion was her little dog, named Troubles. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2008, Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona, SE.
