Obituary for BERMUDEZ

Luciano "Chano" Bermudez, 80, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 in his home surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Celia Bermudez; daughters, Lupe Madrid and Viola Bermudez; son, Raymond Bermudez and Emilia; grandson, Jordan Madrid; granddaughter, Jenna Madrid; brothers, Joe and wife, Toni, and Jack Bermudez and wife, Nohemi; and sisters, Rayitos Benavidez, Delfinia Gonzales. Chano was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Anita Bermudez; and brother, Eugenio Bermudez. He was born in Manzano, NM and moved to Albuquerque in the 50's, where he lived most of his life. Before he married, he spent time in the Army stationed in Alaska, after which he raised his family back in Albuquerque. Chano was a jack of all trades and spent much of his time working on heavy machinery and neighbors cars; he also drilled wells with his brother. His passion was fishing and hunting and spending time in the outdoors and on the farm. Chano was a caring man always willing to help a neighbor. Chano was very easy going and loved to joke around. He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend who will be dearly missed by all. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
