Edith (Vallejos) Chavez, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2008. She was born on November 27, 1938, in Albuquerque, NM, and remained a resident of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, Soilo Vallejos and Demetria (Sanchez) Vallejos; and her brother, Paul Padilla. Edith is survived by her loving partner, Juan Gurule; sons, Jake Chavez and wife, Mary, of Tijeras, NM, and Leo Chavez, of Albuquerque; daughters, Carla Chavez, of Pecos NM, Sandra Pacheco and husband, Lawrence, Nancy Chavez, of Albuquerque, and Renee Christian and husband, Dwayne, of Edgewood; 22 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Willie Padilla and Tito Padilla; and sisters, Elma Apodaca, Kathy Padilla, and Sarah Padilla, all of Albuquerque. A visitation in her honor will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at 3:00 p.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 21, at 9:00 a.m.; all Services will be conducted at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, 505-245-4596. Pallbearers include Richard Ortiz, Lawrence Pacheco, James Espinoza, Dwayne Christian, Jake Chavez, Leo Chavez.
