Obituary for BROWN

Charles Eugene Brown (Sonny), 88, and a resident of Albuquerque since 1975 and past resident of Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2008. Charles was a first lieutenant, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Air Medal from the Army Air Corps. He served in the European Theater in World War II. In his youth, he was an avid basketball player on the Muncie basketball team. Charles was a graduate of Purdue University in 1949, where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a registered professional engineer and practiced in several states. Charles retired from his own practice early this year. He is survived by his wife, Olive Patricia Brown; three daughters, Charlotte Driver, Charlene Brown, and Charmaine Brown; and grandchildren. Charles was a dedicated father and loving husband. A private ceremony and interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be graciously accepted by Purdue University, School of Civil Engineering, 550 Stadium Mall Drive, West Lafayette, IN 47907-2051.
