Mona Wood, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 2007 formerly of Brownsville and Louisville, Kentucky died peacefully at home Friday, July 11, 2008. Mona is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ronald W. Wood; her children, Brenda Brown and husband Donald, Gail Carter and husband Scott, Rebecca Hampsten and husband Roy and Wanda Hastings and husband Robert. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zachary and wife Kristin, Christina, Dustin and wife Erin, Matthew, Nolan, Brittany, Anna, Joshua, Jacob, Jarrett and Jessie; father, Jerome Peerce; brothers, Jerome Peerce Jr. and wife Martha, Jon Peerce and wife Pat; sister, Alicia Roades and husband Jamie and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Peerce and her cousin, Mary Jo Thompson. Mrs. Wood received her Masters Degree from the University of Louisville, was a Cardinal fan and was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel. Most of all she loved her family and will be dearly missed. Friends and family may visit French Mortuary, University Chapel on Sunday, July 13, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or one hour prior to service time.
