Alice Martinez went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2008. She was born on June 21, 1915 to Octaviano and Teodorita Cordova Sandoval, in San Miguel County, NM. Alice is survived by six daughters, Liz and husband Bill Chavez, Helen and husband Rudy Ortiz, Rose Jaramillo and fiance Marshall, Lorraine and husband Vince Evans, Mary Alice and husband Steve Sanchez, and Antonia Leyba; also 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; her sister Dulcenia and husband George Olivas; and sisters-in-law Simme and Dora Sandoval; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Gilbert Martinez. Alice enjoyed composing beautiful prayers and her favorite way to pass the time was visiting with family and friends. A Viewing and Rosary will take place in the Chapel Daniels Family Funeral Services on Wyoming, Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. A Mass will be held at Risen Savior on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., and interment will follow at Gate of Heaven.
