Benjamin (Bennie) Gallegos, 85 of Vaughn, NM died Wednesday, July 2, 2008. He passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family. Bennie was born October 12, 1922 to the ranching family of Concha and Juan Gallegos of Pinos Wells, NM. He was a World War II veteran, a lifelong member of the Sociadad de San Jose de Pinos Wells, NM and an active parishioner of St. Mary's Parish in Vaughn, NM. He is survived by his wife Corine; his loving spouse of 62 years; one son Jude Gallegos and wife Diana of Vaughn; two daughters, Inez Carter and husband Alan of Aztec, NM and Louisa Gallegos of Encino, NM; one grandson, Matthew Gallegos and wife Giselle of Las Cruces, NM; two great-grandsons, Matthew Robert and Nathaniel, also of Las Cruces. His sibling survivors are Emma Blythe of Albuquerque; Ray Gallegos of Vaughn, and Mike Gallegos of Albuquerque along with many loved nieces and nephews. Rosary Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 from St. Mary's Parish in Vaughn; a Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2008 also from St. Mary's with Father Steve Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn, NM. Pallbearers will be Adolfo Lucero, Robert Tenorio, Patrick Gallegos, Frank Gallegos, Fred Gallegos, and Mark Gallegos.
