Raymond E. Gutierrez, 80, a resident of Albuquerque passed away June 14, 2008 with his loving family at his side. Mr. Gutierrez is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Rose Gutierrez; three children, Sylvia Gutierrez and partner, Yvonne Riggs, Ernest Gutierrez and wife, Frances, Chris Gutierrez and wife, Trini; four stepchildren, Norma Jonas and husband, Jack, Ruben Valdez, Paul Valdez, Sr., Ross Valdez; grandchildren, Maggie, Thomas, Angelina, Steven, Heather, Paul Jr.; great-grandchildren, Dayton, Alex, Aliciana, Amanda, Trinton, Tammy and Jordan; his brother, Louie Gutierrez; brother-in-law, Manuel Herrera. Mr. Gutierrez was preceded in death by a brother, Manuel Gutierrez and a sister, Mary Herrera. Mr. Gutierrez was a member of the Catholic Church and a veteran of the US Marine Corp. having served during WWII. Visitation will be Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos NW from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Jim Garcia. Final visitation will be Wednesday at the Church from 8:15 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. , Father Joe Vigil, presider. Pallbearers will be Robert Griego, Paul Valdez, Sr., Paul Valdez, Jr., Ross Valdez, Matthew Martinez and Anthony Schutte. Private disposition will take place at a later date.
