Billie C. Richards, 86, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2008 at home. She was born Saturday, April 19, 1922 in Hope, NM, the oldest of three children born to Will & Bess Scoggin. Billie married H. Scott Richards in Roswell, NM on June 15, 1943. She moved to Portales, NM where she lived while her husband served overseas during the Second World War. Billie attended Eastern New Mexico University for two years before the family moved to Albuquerque, NM. She worked as a secretary for the Audio Visual Department of the Albuquerque Public Schools. After retirement, she and her husband were both volunteers at Presbyterian Hospital where she donated 6,025 hours. Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Richards who passed away in 2003, and her brother, Robert Scoggin. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Bonham and husband, Gordon of Baltimore, MD, and a son, Donald Scott Richards of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Scott Bonham and wife, Noemi of Bowling Green, KY, Cathy (Bonham) Zeisler and husband, Todd of Pittsburgh, PA, Kyle Richards and wife, Melissa of Hartford, WI and Michael Bonham of Pittsburgh, PA; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary, Will, and Karen Zeisler, Alexander, Jason, and Tyler Richards, and Raquel and Caleb Bonham; a sister, Rachel Collins and husband, Sidney who live in Tucumcari, NM. Services will be held Friday, June 13, 2008, 10:00 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd NE.
