Obituary for SMITH

Herbert A. Smith passed away at the age of 83 at his home in Albuquerque on May 24, 2008, with his wife by his side. Mr. Smith was born Jan. 1, 1925 in Milan, Mo. He was a WWII veteran and had a Master's degree in Education, which he utilized as teacher and administrator until his retirement in 1971. He then went on to own several business in the Alb. area. His varied interests included automobiles, philosophy, art and billiards. He was an accomplished gunsmith and won several world and state championships in shooting competitions. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughter, Suzan; sons, Mike and Rick; daughter-in-law, Jeannette; grandchildren, K.C., Hannah, Tyrus and great-granddaughter, Naomi Rose. There will be a private service in Milan, Missouri. The family has set up a memorial fund in Mr. Smith's name at the American Lung Association.
