Obituary for WEINER

Irving M. Weiner, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1995, died Thursday, May 29, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Leatrice Weiner; one daughter, Laurie Lampert and husband, Michael, of Brooklyn, NY; one step-daughter, Jill Wexler and husband, Richard of Albuquerque, NM; three step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; one brother, Beryl H. Weiner and wife, Eleanor of Atlanta, Georgia; nephew, Louis Feinberg and wife, Merle of Orlando, FL; and other niece, nephews, cousins, and friends. Irving was born on June 9, 1922 in Camilla, Georgia to Louis and Fannie Berman Weiner and graduated from Camilla Consolidated High School in 1939. He entered the United States Infantry in 1942 and served honorably, being wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and receiving the Purple Heart. Irving then went on to graduate with a BS in Textile Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1947. After graduation he practiced his profession with the Frank Ix and company until his retirement in 1995. At that time he moved to Albuquerque and married Leatrice Levene Alexander. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. Irving was a member of Phi Epsilon Pi Social Fraternity and Phi Psi Professional Fraternity. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Graveside services will be held at Congregation Albert Section, Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Friday, May 30, 2008, 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
